Under the umbrella of the Institute for applied research, a new service for young scientists is being created: The Graduate Center of SRH University Heidelberg. Are you a doctoral candidate or are you interested in doing a doctorate? At the Graduate Center you will find competent contact persons, consulting and support services. Feel free to contact us!

The Graduate Center is part of the project "International Research Experience @SRH", which is supported by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) with funds from the BMBF (Federal Ministry of Education and Research) within the program "HAW.International".

HAW.International Scholarships for PhD Students

As part of our DAAD-project „International Research Experience @SRH” we offer you the opportunity to enrich your research with international experience and intercultural exchange: As a doctoral candidate, you can spend up to six months doing research abroad.

An opportunity to get to know each other, network, and communicate about ideas, wishes and problems. The interdisciplinary Ph.D. round table is organized by Prof. Dr. Joachim Haß and rof. Dr. Christoph Schärtl. We´re looking forward to meet you!

Our offer for you

At the Graduate Center you can get advice on various organizational and structural topics related to your doctorate. We focus on helping you to help yourself - we support you in acquiring all the necessary information to make plans and decisions on your own. Consultations at the Graduate Center are, of course, treated confidentially.

An opportunity to get to know each other, to network and to exchange ideas, wishes and problems regarding your doctorate is offered by the interdepartmental Ph.D. round table. The Ph.D. round table is organized by Prof. Dr. Joachim Haß and Prof. Dr. Christoph Schärtl. You will be informed about the dates and meeting places of the Ph.D. round table via a mailing list, for which you can register with Prof. Haß/Prof. Schärtl. We´re looking forward to meeting you.

Female talent is essential in business and science. Yet women still face barriers in different professions. As successful women in industry and academia, we want to ensure that you get answers to your questions. We gladly offer our support in a broad spectrum, ranging from sporadic contact in the case of urgent issues to regular interaction and mentoring.

PhD funding

The SRH University Heidelberg supports carrying out of cooperative PhDs. The PhD funding includes financial support totaling €9,000 (€4,500 for the doctoral candidate / €4,500 for the supervisor) and is provided through the reimbursement of PhD-specific expenses by the Institute for Applied Research (IAF).

The funding is primarily aimed at the employees of the SRH University Heidelberg, who don’t have only a marginal employment status (in terms of time and wage). Freelancers are not eligible to apply. Further information about eligibility and on how to apply can be found in the information sheet.
