To be allowed to start the Master's program “International Business and Engineering“, you must have a formal university degree (Bachelor, Diploma or Masters) such as Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or a University degree (B.A.) in economics with a final grade of at least 2,5.
In addition, proof of English: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 80 (TOEFL code of SRH: 7712,) Duolingo Certificate 95, PTE Academic 58 or other proof of English proficiency
Successful participation in an individual qualification assessment = motivation letter + selection interview (online or on-site)
Pre- Course (1 semester): Meeting all requirements mentioned above Industrial Engineers (210 ECTS) may have direct access to our Master program (90 ECTS). Applicants with an engineering degree need to pass the mandatory business pre-course (30 ECTS).
Applicants with business / management degree need to pass a mandatory technical pre-course (30 ECTS).

770 EUR per month + one-time registration fee of 750 EUR
Applicants from countries with a visa obligation need to pay a one-time registration fee of 1,000 EUR and all tuition fees must be paid in advance.

Our Master's program "International Business and Engineering" will enable you to understand the connection between technology, economics, social, philosophical aspects, develop sustainable business solution and intercultural skills. The locality of our university is surrounded with global industries, which gives various opportunities to become a working student in parallel to the studies.
Master “International Business & Engineering“ with pre-courses (120 CPs)
Due to COVID-19 crises we had planned to do our preliminary course both in regular class room form and in online form. If in case you are not able to travel to Germany due to travel restrictions or if you would like to stay safe at home (EU and German students), you can select the online version. The details of the online version can be found in the below link.
Graduates of engineering sciences are required to start with a preliminary course in business studies. They are obliged to pass the preliminary course to enter the regular Master`s program. The duration of the preliminary course is one semester.
Preliminary course business studies:
- Module 1+2: Business Essentials I Courses: Business Theory & Research, Business Law, Market Analysis, Business Startup, Marketing & Sales, Project I
- Module 3+4: Business Essentials II o Courses: Human Resources, Investment & Finance, Mathematics, Business Management, Project II, Language
Graduates of economics are required to start with a preliminary course in technical studies. They are obliged to pass the preliminary course to enter the regular Master`s program. The duration of the preliminary course is one semester.
Preliminary course technical sciences:
- Module 1+2: Technical Essentials I: o Mathematics for Engineers I+II, Material Sciences I, Mechanics
- Module 3+4: Technical Essentials II o Constructive Design, Electrical Engineering, Production Engineering, Material Sciences II, Language
Our academic year is divided into eight 5-weeks-blocks. For the entire duration of studies, these blocks build on each other with regard to content. Studies begin with a 14-day introductory module. Targeted learning is on offer from day one with a university-wide preparatory phase to acquire basic study skills.

During the study period
Students are allowed to work 20 hours per week as a working student in any company.
Elective "Operations Management" will provide an opportunity to work with a company and gain practical exposure. Based on individual interest, students are responsible to find an opportunity in a company. Also, students are free to do their master thesis in the same company, if the company is ready to offer a thesis topic.

Due to your qualifications in two developing strong industries, you have many possibilities regarding your future career. Your flexible professional profile is rounded off by good language skills as well as experience in national and international operating contexts. In an increasingly globalized working world you are able to evaluate sustainable technical projects according to business standards.
After having successfully completed the Master`s program you are entitled to start a PhD program.
Please note: The application Deadline for VISA seeking students is 31th of January (Summer Semester) and 15th of September (Winter Semester).
The profile of the study program is unique in Germany. The contents of the study are based on the current and future needs of growing industries and the labor market.
Depending on your academic background the duration of study varies accordingly:
- Graduates of engineering sciences: 4 semesters (including preliminary course in business studies)
- Graduates of industrial engineering and management: 3 semesters
