Water being an essential resource for the daily life of an individual, plays a major role in environmental engineering and becomes a key aspect for present and future scope of study/research. Challenges in water related topics like water supply, desalination, water purification are increasing due to an increase in the global population, unavailability of clean water, environmental pollution and climate change. Also, residential and industrial wastewater increases the opportunity for wastewater treatment processes. Moreover, since the evolution of energy supply water plays a major role as an emission-free energy source by meeting the demand in addition to fossil fuels. Hence aspects like “resource-oriented sanitation in developing countries”, “Wastewater Treatment”, “Water as Energy Sources”, “Water desalination” requires an investment of knowledge and human resources to identify “sustainable solution” fighting the environmental pollution and climate change.
