Update 8.10.2021 Update on the cyber attack at SRH University Heidelberg

After the cyber attack, SRH is working intensively to restore the IT systems. The good news is that the essential systems can be restored and we will therefore be able to resume normal operations soon. So far, we have no knowledge that personal data of our students has been leaked to the public as a result of the cyber attack. Should this be the case, will we approach the affected persons immediately and personally and support them in taking appropriate protective measures.

Information for Students

Communication with your faculties

Neither your dean of study nor the administrative staff at your faculties have access to their regular email inboxes, nor can they contact you via your student email address.

Therefore, if you have any questions concerning your study organization, please actively use the temporary mailboxes of your faculties, which we have set up especially for this purpose. The central student service can still be reached at the following number: 06221-6799-000. We are happy to help you!

Courses / New QR-Codes

All courses will take place according to schedule. Since Microsoft Teams is currently only working to a limited extent, we are using other online platforms for some online events. You will receive the invitations/links for these from your respective faculties. Campusnet is also affected by the cyber attack and cannot be used at the moment. Don't worry: Exam results from the past are not lost. However, we kindly ask you to be patient for the preparation of certificates and the like.

For the face-to-face events, the “3G” verification requirement still applies. Only persons who are either vaccinated, recovered from COVID19 or tested are allowed to attend a class. For this purpose, new QR codes will be in use starting October 11, 2021. These can be found at the entrance to the teaching rooms. Please scan them before the start of each course to confirm that you meet one of the 3Gs. Instructors will use their own QR code to verify that all 3G confirmations have been received for the course. You should be able to provide proof of this upon request from our staff.

Testing offered on campus beginning October 11, 2021.

We are pleased to continue to provide a testing opportunity directly on campus. For international students who have been vaccinated with vaccines which are not recognized in Germany or students who cannot be vaccinated due to a medical contraindication, these tests will continue to be free of charge. The tests are also still free of charge for students who have not yet been able to take advantage of a vaccination offer during a transition period until December 20, 2021. The university will provide vouchers. Please present these vouchers at the testing center. International students can pick up their vouchers at the International Office, all other students will receive their vouchers at Central Student Services.

Vaccination offer on October 11, 2021.

On Monday, October 11, 2021, there will once again be a vaccination offer with the Biontech/Pfizer mRNA vaccine at our university for all students. The vaccination event will start at 2pm. We ask for prior registration.

Thanks for your cooperation!

Dear students, we ask for your understanding if there are any unfamiliar processes or procedures at one point or another as a result of the cyber attack. Nevertheless, we will do everything in our power to ensure that your studies run as smoothly as possible, and we very much look forward to seeing more of you on campus in the coming weeks.
