April 2017Prof. Dr. Katja Rade is named new president of SRH University Heidelberg. New program: Therapeutic Sciences (M.Sc.)
March 2017The SRH University Heidelberg is one of three Universities of Applied Sciences nominated for Stifterverband's Genius Loci Award for Excellence in Teaching.
2016Institute of Applied Research is established. School of Information, Media and Design is renamed.
October 2015The first graduates to study exclusively under the CORE principle leave the University. New program: Cross Media Design (B.A.)
October 2014New programs: Occupational Therapy (B.Sc.) and Physiotherapy (B.Sc.)
February 2014Opening of physiotherapy and music therapy outpatient clinic on the SRH Campus
October 2012The number of students exceeds the 3,000 mark. All new students start with the same two-week introductory module and then study under the CORE principle, the new study model of SRH University Heidelberg.
January 2011The sixth faculty, the School of Applied Psychology, is founded.
October 2010SRH University exceeds the mark of 2,000 students.
October 20101st International Week with 20 international lecturers, 80 international and around 100 German students.
July 2009Re-accreditation by the German Council of Science and Humanities.
December 2008Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Jörg M. Winterberg succeeds Prof. Dr. Wolfram Hahn as President of SRH University Heidelberg.
July 2007Heidelberg University of Applied Sciences changes its name to SRH University Heidelberg.
October 2005The School of Social and Behavioral Sciences is the first school of the university to offer Bachelor programs in Social Work, Business Law and Business Psychology and to discontinue diploma study programs.
October 2004Inauguration of the new University building in Ludwig Guttmann Street in Heidelberg-Wieblingen: the so-called “Science-Tower”
July 2004First private university of applied sciences to be accredited by the German Council of Science and Humanities.
2001First Master’s program, “Master of Science in Computer Science”, at the Heidelberg University of Applied Sciences.
1998The Department of Business receives the State Teaching Award of Baden-Württemberg for its Heidelberg Model.
1997Heidelberg University of Applied Sciences is the first German university to be certified DIN EN ISO 9001.
1975The professors at all Schools of the University of Applied Sciences Heidelberg receive their accreditation from the Ministry of Education.
1969The predecessor to SRH University Heidelberg begins operations as an “undertaking for the vocational rehabilitation of disabled people” on 1 October.
1964Start of construction of the first center in Heidelberg-Wieblingen.
1960Foundation of the Berufsförderungswerk Heidelberg Foundation, with its first center in Heidelberg-Pfaffengrund, which emerged from a church association, the Stoeckerwerk Association.
